Thank you for Kaila's wonderful experience at camp this year! She talked about her adventure non-stop for days and then still kept remembering tidbits to share with us. I would just like to say that attending, and later junior-counseloring for Summer Days has done so much for me. On an educational level, I really learned a lot my first year. I learned about ways to problem-solve better. We wet to a Merchant Mariner's training facility, which was a lot of fun and I realized that there were exciting jobs for women in that field that I never would have known existed. We did experiments that basically peaked my interest in all of my scientific endeavors since.
Summer Days allowed me to become more comfortable with asking questions, and gave me the drive to find the answers. Summer Days also did a lot to raise my self-esteem and awareness of other women my age. Tracy did a lecture with us about women not supporting each other enough, which really stuck with me. I left the camp feeling empowered. Naturally, when Tracy presented me with the opportunity to return to Summer Days as a junior counselor, I was thrilled and couldn't wait to go!

Julia had a wonderful experience at Summer Days Math and Science Camp for Girls this past week at Washington College. Julia didn't stop talking from the time she was picked up until the time she went to bed about the instructors, other girls she met, the wonderful food selection in the cafeteria and the college dorm life. It sounds like the fire and the animal classes made the biggest impressions. The conversations with the other girls in the common area also got very positive mentions.
As you are aware, we didn't know anyone who had been to your program so we signed on based on your description in an ad in a magazine and from my phone conversation with you. I am glad my daughter went to the camp and talked her friend into joining her for the week. We are looking forward to sending our younger daughter to the program in a few years!
